Today our group went to Triple Play in Green Valley to do our internship. We had a lot of fun. For starters, the students loved feeling like they were part of the crew when the owner gave them tee shirts with the Triple Play logo on them to wear during their shift! We did our orientation and walked around the restaurant a bit and toured the outdoors. Some of the tasks we did today were cleaning up the Miniature golf area, cleaned tables and chairs and poured sodas for customers. Valerie even had a chance to run food out to customers with one of the employees. Andrews favorite job was pouring the drinks for the customers. Sometimes he made a few mistakes or forgot to put ice in the cups, but he was able to fix his mistakes. The students loved that the customers were very patient and friendly with them. They understood the importance of having a clean area for the customers to sit down and enjoy their meals. They thought the owner Mr. Joe Reiman and his daughter Mrs. Caity Marcum were very nice! At one point before the restaurant opened for business, the students were able to take a little break and the owner asked them to make sure the Air Hockey game worked well! They loved playing Air Hockey. Andrew won a few games against Valerie and was very happy about it!

My first two weeks
My first week i learned about the class and expectations. I also learned how to act in a worked place and how to dress professional.
Couple of things i like about this class
Today's topic: Think of a time you wanted to give up but you didn't. What was the situation? Why didn't you give up? How did you deal with it?
Math Class- I wanted to give up because no one was doing their work or wanted to learn. I was working and trying to learn. I didn't give up because my parents don't want me to be a quitter. I don't want to be like everyone else in the class. I didn't care about anyone else's attitude. I would get frustrated sometimes. In the end, I learned well and got a good grade.
On Friday we went to job fair with Vanessa. AJ and his class came too. We took the Workability bus to get there. At the job fair we saw people who were trying to hire new employees. They had signs along with people sitting at the tables. Two of the businesses were Walmart and Geico. Of course there were a bunch more. We talked to the businesses and walked around. We were supposed to offer them our resumes. We wore nice clothes so could be professional. We practiced talking to the businesses together. we leaned about asking questions about their jobs. Nathan liked the job fair. Next time, we might try to decide which businesses to talk to beforehand so we have more time while we are there. jocasey dressed like a construction worker. He wore an orange vest and hard hat.
we had to build a tower out of noodles that had to stand all by itself. sometimes the noodles broke. Everyone participated very well, but we didn't communicate as much as we should have. we had two tries but our tower didn't stand either time. next time we need to talk more right from the beginning. maybe we could tie the spaghetti with the green string. If something doesn't work we can try it a different way. we should also have better time management.
Next we went on a treasure hunt. we did much better at that. It was easier. We communicated better than the marshmallow one right from the get go. we fond them all as a team.. It was awesome. we learned that to be a good team you have to have good communication, work together and use everyone's abilities,
Today, we had to work as a team. Nathan had a blindfold, Jocasey couldn't talk, and Tim had to navigate without anyone telling him where the obstacles were. As a team we had to walk around to the kitchen, the lobby, computer lab, and then bock to the classroom.
Nathan : we worked well. It was hard to be guided. It was hard to be blind. It was fun. Like working in a team.
Jocasey : i thought we worked hard. It was hard getting in the places. It was hard because I could not talk but I had to wait for the other people and help them. It was easy because we worked together.
Tim: I do think we worked together but for me the challenge was having Jocasey direct me and Nathan without talking, which I wasn't used to. But we were able to get through it together as a team.
If you are dressing for an interview you would want to dress professionally. that might mean a tie, a button up shirt, and dress pants. also you need to be clean for the interview. you can't smell because otherwise the person who is trying to employ you might not hire you as a potential candidate, depending on what job you want. You have to be on time, treat other people with respect, and can't have a negative attitude. It always has to be a positive attitude in the work place. It always has to be a positive, otherwise you could either get a written warning and if you do the same thing again you could get fired.
we went for direct we clean table chars kitchen we tested markers
