We went to a job fair today. Three WorkAbility classes went to the job fair. This job fair was for young adults with disabilities. The people there were looking for jobs. Some of the businesses there were Afni, Fed Ex, Walgreens, Linkages, Jim Click, Sears, Pima Community College and many more. These were the words we associated with the job fair today:

We went to The Garden Kitchen today. We saw a lot of neat things in their garden. We saw pink and purple flowers, tomatoes, peaches, apples, strawberries, blackberries, and lots of herbs. Our tour guide's name is Jacqui and she is very friendly. She showed us their water harvesting system. We also got to see their 2 chickens, Pepper and Marigold. Pepper chases Marigold around, so Marigold was hiding. Jacqui told us that Pepper and Marigold are getting old, so they will be getting some new chickens soon (she said we could come back and see them). The Garden Kitchen has also planted some things outside of their own garden, near the sidewalks. The have planted fruit trees that their neighbors can pick fruit and eat it. They have also used planters to plant herbs for people to take and cook with. They have even posted ways that the herbs, such as rosemary, thyme, sage and mint, can be used in cooking.
This is the list we came up with on how to be an adult:
This week we learned about resumes. This is what goes on a resume:
Name Address Phone Number Objective Skills Experience Education This is what doesn't go on a resume: Hobbies (dancing, singing, soccer, swimming) Favorite color Age Social Security Number Favorite TV Shows Favorite Food Resumes are complicated because they are hard to do. But you need a resume so that hopefully you can get a job. We liked seeing the finished product of our resumes. The things that we need to do to have good hygiene and grooming:
The three types of people are: (1) People who make things happen
(2) People who watch things happen
(3) People who wonder what happened
The 5 Types of Communication:
(1) Verbal (2) Non-Verbal (3) Written (4) Aural (5) Visual We went to Park Mall and asked business searching questions at Bath and Body Works. At the beginning of Class we do physical exercises. Today we played corn-hole. We learned about listening. We also talked about self determination.
