At the cat shelter we have been learning new things. I learned how to do laundry. You have to shake the beds and towels first then you put them in the washing machine. The clean cloths I put in the dryer and press both green buttons and it turns on the machine. Some of the cats like me to pet them. The cats that are wearing a purple color it means that they bite. I have fun helping at the cat shelter.
I see myself being smart I laugh a lot i'm a happy person and i'm a hard worker. I also like learning new things. people see me as being a loud person sometimes that true, something what I have to do for people not to see me as a loud person I have to use inside voice and wear my hearing aids
We will be starting our new internships next week. We will be going to:
Isabel is most excited to go to the Live Theater Workshop. Isabel is looking forward to organizing costumes. Chase is looking forward to working at Reid Park and being outdoors. Edgar is eager to see the Live Theater Workshop and likes to clean and sweep. We also made lists of some jobs we are interested in. Our internships let us try tasks so we can decide what we might like to do at a job. We also learn what we don't like to do. Staying safe on a bike means to not get hit. It’s important to take water with you if it’s hot. Wear knee/elbow pads when your driving as well as a helmet. Sometimes you can wear gloves for a good grip. You can ride a bike to get to work and save money.
When working at the offices I did shredding. I had to go into people’s office and ask them for the paper that needs to be shredded. It was important to remember to be quiet when I was walking in the offices because they might be working the computer or on the phone calling. At the beginning it was hard to keep my voice down, but with practice I was able to learn that skill. Thank you UCP and WorkAbility for letting us volunteer.
At a job my coworkers are my team. We do the work together and talk about how to solves problems together, we split up the work as a team. If a person on the team is having a hard time doing their job we help them. Jobs are all about teamwork and keeping a positive attitude.
I SLEEP FOR 8 HOUR EVERY NIGHT. MY BRAIN GETS SOME REST WHILE I SLEEP. MY BODY IS TIRED WHEN I NEED GO TO BED. I GET UP AND I HAVE A LOT OF ENERGY AND HAVE A GOOD MOOD. THIS WILL HELP ME BE HAPPY WHEN I AM At WORK AND I WON'T BE MAD AND IN A GRUMPY WAY . EVERYONE SHOULD GET ENOUGH SLEEP.
I like working with the kids, me and the my class help them out by making art with them. We hand people snacks around the clinic and water their plants. I am learning how always keep busy while working.
It is important to have a positive attitude when you' re having a rough day because you can hurt someone feelings, you don 't what to throw fits, you don 't what to be mean to other people and you don 't what scream at people.
