I will volunteer at TRAK working with horses, sheep and goats. I’m going to groom, water, & feed them. I don’t want to work with the chickens, the ducks, the rabbits and the pigs. I want to volunteer 3 times a week for 2hrs a shift.
I will work at Workability this summer with Dee-Dee. I will work with Dee-Dee 2hrs a week looking for a job. I'm looking for a job. we're doing photocopies to practice for a office job. We made 5 copies. I did 1 question about the start button. I did that myself.
Disclosure and Self-advocacy are basically the same, but different. Self-advocacy is basically verbally expressing your needs for specific accommodations. A great example of Self-advocacy is, if a person has a yearly Individual Service Plan, or ISP, then they can express their wants, needs, preference’s , and their supervisor can look in to getting needs met.
Disclosure, on the other hand, is if a person with a disability gets a job, and decides to disclose to the supervisor, or manager of the establishment about their disability, that means that their Self-advocating for themselves . Trak was a very fun experience. We saw horses, goats, pigs etc. When we went to Trak we went for job exploration. I even learned that after volunteering 40 hrs I can ride a horse free! Trak was so much fun! Being able to go out is a good thing because we get to explore different job areas.
