Our Mission And Purpose By Corey

Here at Work Ability our mission is too help individuals with disabilities to become more independent and learn basic skills.  Also to learn how to get a job,How to keep one and what to expect when working at a job. Plus how they should behave or act when working at one. That way they can succeed in one later on in their future. We teach them many things like how to dress appropriately for work or an interview. How to use good hygiene before going to work. How to act in the work force and how to handle difficult situations. To not give up, work hard, and follow through with what they're doing.  To teach them what a resume is and teach them new skills that they can learn  to add to that resume and so on. The purpose is to help individuals with disabilities  find a job and keep it by teaching them how to succeed in the work force.

Being a peer mentor helped me learn how to take thing more seriously.
I learned how to take action when something happens.
I also learned to work with people as a team.
My next step is to begin to look for a job.
I have a lot of hope that I will find a job where I will work hard.

I really liked being at Work Ability this summer. It's good for my work experience. I also will be miss being
around with my friends at WorkAbility and I will wish them the best of luck. I am thinking
about coming to work when I can be able to return with a good positive mental attitude. I learned that it is not good to have excuses that are not real. I will keep on  bring the doctors note when I go to the doctor. Thank You WorkAbility.

This week is the last week of WorkAbility! I am so glad that I got to know everyone! Yesterday we talked about volunteering, doing a self assessment about independence, making job lists, discussing supports, and choosing review topics! Today we are going bowling at Lucky Strike Bowling! A lot of fun! All 5 classes will be there! Tomorrow we are celebrating and having a lot of food and people and having a fun day!
I'm going to miss Jasmine a lot and she is an awesome teacher! Also I miss everyone because they are so amazing! I will miss classes; they are so awesome I know. It was an awesome 8 weeks! We did hard work at internships! Shea is so awesome peer mentor in Nubia's class! Emily is so awesome. I got to know her!
WorkAbility is so awesome.
I will miss her! I already did plan go do one-on-one with Workability.
