This week in Workability, I learned how my likes, dislikes, and interests can help me get the job that suits me. Likes can show what I enjoy, dislikes shows the opposite of likes, and interests can help determine what fields I'm into as of now. Showing these three key words can give an idea to interviewers who want to know if I'm both suited to the job and if I want to get it. If I don't show any of these to them, then I have a high chance of receiving a job I might end up loathing.

A bad attitude looks like when you are disobeying or not following the rules. Another example is cursing at someone for no reason. Bad attitudes will lead to bad and crucial consequences.
When I go and find my first job; or a job in general, it helps me to get a job that i am more interested in. This encourages me to do my job and keeps me engaged. When i am engaged I can perform the job at my best ability and it makes me happy. It also helps when i have more knowledge on what i am doing. I also feel more comfortable doing something i love and generally want to put into practice.
This week in WorkAbility, we talked about what our interests are and the kinds of jobs we can have with those interests. We made posters that have a few interests, likes/dislikes, and preferences, and somewhere on it says "I Am Determined". Using the information we put on those posters, we brainstormed three jobs we want that we can get under the age 18. The next day, we went online to research openings for those jobs here in Tucson and I found these ones interesting:
Teamwork is the most important thing in sports. For example a point guard is the mvp(most valuable player) on the team. He needs to know who is open and who is ready to block, guard, or screen for him when the time is right to shoot the basket and make the point.
I haven't even been here for two days, but I"m already liking it! Yesterday we all met each other and made posters to hang up in the room so it feels more "us". Then we took learning style quizzes and took headshots for our lanyards we'll be wearing at our internships. I'm looking forward to these next two months!
Good morning everyone! I'm Miko and this is my first post on the Workability website. I'm here to learn how to get a job and dealing with the stress of having one along with telling you parts of my life. Though this post may feel a bit generic (or "cringe worthy" depending on your view), I'm just trying to get used to blogging on Workablility. I hope you might be a little entertained the more I post over here. Thanks for reading! -Miko Chikamatsu. Archives May 2017 Categories All I have a graphic novel i have been working on that fits into the dark fantasy genre. It will be heavily influenced on mythology, folklore, and real world supposedly paranormal occurrences. However instead of humanity stealing the spotlight, the story will focus on mostly wolves and other canines (and some feline entity's!). This story is still unnamed and currently in the beginning of development.
Some major characters are as shown, (but i'm not going to say who they are!) I went to gospel supplies and found books and movies on animals. I went to Petco and held a Ferret for the first time . I liked my classroom and my teacher Yvette. I[m looking forward to coming back.
I cannot believe that this is our final week of Workability, time sure does fly by when you are having fun but these 8 weeks have been challenging. But otherwise it has been really fun for me. Even if it took me a while to get used to things I still had fun while I was here.
For example:
Out of all those places I went to my favorite places were
Even though I have 3 days left my favorite memory was on Thursday when I had to teach Domonique how to do some cleaning even though I was a little out of it, it taught me to be more patient with people. I made some friends along the way, Anna, Jasmine, Yvette, Domonique and Daniel. What I learned over these 8 weeks:
This program taught me what I need to work on to be a positive person. Also it is important to figure out what you want to be or do so you don’t end up being at a job that you will end hating. The other thing I learned was the fact that you can always have fun but not too much fun to the point you get fired. It is also important to make sure you are not getting taken an advantage of. In the long run I am glad I had the chance to come to this program because I think I have become a better person at home and when I am not home. I was kind of shocked that I learned so much that I thought I would never learn. I just want to say Thank You Hannah, Yvette, Lisa |
