The Guest Speaker-Ferran

Yesterday I had a guest speaker and he works at Popcorn Country as a assistant manager.

He spoke about the everyday things.  At Popcorn Country you have to know how to do everything, from preparing and making the popcorn to cashiering and customer service.

It was quite interesting learning about working in a popcorn shop but one of the really cool parts was that the speaker brought some of the popcorn that they sell; my favorite is the butter pecan, it was sweet like caramel but not as overwhelming.

Ben's experience at the job fair

How did I feel about the job fair? I was nervous because of all the people around and I was also focused on finding the right places that can benefit me. I learned that the job fair isn't the only place for me to find a job, there are other ways. Some thing I can can work on is try harder to find  a job by staying persistent.

Job fair impressions-Stephen

When we first got to the job fair, the line leading in was very long. Fortunately, the people letting us in were like airport security on opposite day, so the line moved quickly. I got to talk to a couple of people from two different tables and they made it easy to ask questions about the jobs. The rest of the tables were ether for jobs I didn't care for or schools that I don't need.

I learned how to act professional in an interview. How did I learn you might ask I watched a video of what not to do on the day you are in an interview? Here are some examples of what I learned don’t be late, don’t keep yourself dirty, do not dress weird dress normally, keep yourself clean, watch where you are going, and do not let phone calls interrupt you at work. And also do not violate the code at work.

Sincerely

Ben Reich

We learned how to get to work, and how to dress,  How to know how to multi-task , There were  other various tasks on a job . Scott mentioned how to get along with other employee's. He also mentioned about volunteering and if they liked  how you were doing your job they might keep you on.Scott also talked about how he wasn"t a very social person and how he had to work at being a person who could talk to people.

Yesterday, we had a guest speaker from Popcorn country to talk about their work experience. The bit that stuck out to me is when he talked about how he deals with customers even though he isn't a people person. he said that talking to a stranger about business made talking easier.

Why is it Difficult to Work on a Team- Ferran & Ben

8/18/2015

Some of the  reasons why it's difficult to work on a team might be because some one is lazy, doesn't like you, or could have social problems.  But in a job it doesn't matter, you need to find a way to work together. One way that can be achieved is by finding compromise.  For example, if they are lazy you can tell them if you finish the project you can help them with thier work. Also, if they dislike you, can focus on your task and let them do thier job.  If they have social problems you can try to find out what they like, so you can open them up to get close and participate.  These are the reasons we think working together is hard and how we can fix it.
