Work ability is grand! It also helps you learn things like how to become a better person. Don’t be ashamed to come to class because what you learn is good for your soul. It gives you skills even when you feel the chills. Don’t be afraid to learn new things. The teacher is awesome, come to class ‘cause it helps you blossom.

Getting and applying for a job-RJ

For all people who want to survive in this world, it is painfully obvious that we need jobs. But some might say oh but how does one get a job, well it’s quite simple. First, if you have a computer at your home that’s great, but if not don’t worry there are places where you have access to computers such as libraries or learning facility’s. When you have access to a computer start a roster of jobs and list them. Try to look into each of them, who knows maybe one of the job you jotted down will be your chosen job. Keep trying and never give up hope. Look, all I can do is give you people advice but is up to you to use the information I give. Please use your brain and make the best choices that you can make.

On my first day of class I was scaraed out of my mind. I was anxious and nervous. But, I was very surprised at how cool this class is turning out to be. Everyone is very interesting and I really like that.

Awful weather conditions for work in Arizona-Rj

1. It is customary to start work early between 4 and 6, wear loose fit clothing that covers your arms and legs, have a hat made of mesh, carry numerus water bottles, and wear sun block.
2. Temperatures will rise rapidly. Must drink a ½ gallon of water every day, or risk heat stroke. If you don’t wear sun block you will either get sun burned. You could be at risk of getting skin cancer.

Last Day of Class

During our 10 weeks of class at Workability we had many guest speakers visit us who's knowledge and work experience was very helpful. Other important skills that were very important to name a few were; Mock Interviews, Teamwork, Blog/Email, Professionalism, Resume'/cover letter writing,  and applications.

As a group we will remember all the experiences we shared. The two experiences that we all agreed upon that will stand out the most were our field trips in the new Workability van to El Con Mall and the job fair we attended at the Hotel Tucson.  Although it was one most over whelming things we did it was also a good thing because we were able to actually understand how many people are out there looking for a job just like us.

At Workability we had to work very hard in every class to fit a large amount of information regarding  employment into 10 weeks.  The benefit of taking a class like Workability would be that there is constant review, support, encouragement and exposure to actual employers.  All these pieces of the class have helped us become more aware of what employers are looking for in an employee.

Thank you to everyone that contributed to our learning.

Sincerely,

Adult Workshop Class
