Yesterday I had a speaker from DIRECT and her name is Lupita. She told us about all the things that DIRECT can do for an individual with the qualifications that is in need of the service one of the interesting programs that she talked about is a Cooking Class. In there she talked about the class teaching people how to make easy nutritional meals when you live on your own. Also your not going to eat something you don't like they can help you make something else that you will eat.

Money Management-Ferran

This week the class and I are learning money management including the pros and cons in loans, direct deposit and cashing your check in yourself.
So far it’s been hard to remember the ins and outs with every trick to make it easier on yourself when you’re managing your money but I know if I research enough with some practice I can get it down.

Today I had a speaker and her name is Kris Mamalsky and she works currently in Project RAISE
she said that Project RAISE is a program thru Pima Community Collage that helps people with
developmental disabilities and years back she co-owned a business called Mama Llamas
and told us her experience as a boss and in her business she was also moving around like her
employees and that after a while she got tired and closed shop but she said that they licensed
the product and allowed Tucson Tamale to sell there product and all she has to do is train the
employees to make the empenadas that her company is famous for and then she gets payed

Experience At The Job Fair-Ferran

My experience was lack luster to say the least, but pretty interesting. Much of the entire day was spent in the job fair, and the whole time I was too scarred to talk to anyone. So I wasn't as close as anybody else to getting use to talking to strangers, but I will get there some day.

Yesterday the class and I practiced some mock interviews; it was informative by showing me what I can work on when I am talking to an interviewer.
I was told I did really well during the practice interviews and as a result I was asked to be an interviewer for the other students.  It was fun and I had a good time.

Today I got all dressed up so I can have an interview with someone I don’t know yet and I believe I finished with flying colors. I didn’t feel nervous like the last interviews during the summer, but I still have to do one more tomorrow, then I will be done.

Thank You

Yesterday I had a guest speaker and he works at Popcorn Country as a assistant manager.

He spoke about the everyday things.  At Popcorn Country you have to know how to do everything, from preparing and making the popcorn to cashiering and customer service.

It was quite interesting learning about working in a popcorn shop but one of the really cool parts was that the speaker brought some of the popcorn that they sell; my favorite is the butter pecan, it was sweet like caramel but not as overwhelming.

Why is it Difficult to Work on a Team- Ferran & Ben

8/18/2015

Some of the  reasons why it's difficult to work on a team might be because some one is lazy, doesn't like you, or could have social problems.  But in a job it doesn't matter, you need to find a way to work together. One way that can be achieved is by finding compromise.  For example, if they are lazy you can tell them if you finish the project you can help them with thier work. Also, if they dislike you, can focus on your task and let them do thier job.  If they have social problems you can try to find out what they like, so you can open them up to get close and participate.  These are the reasons we think working together is hard and how we can fix it.

In this blog I am going to talk about self care like eating well because having good nutrition in your diet can be beneficial to you. Some good ways it can be beneficial are being able to think more clearly and feeling well if you just eat a lot of junk food every day  you will get so obese you wont be able to get out of your bed.

Workability-Ferran & Philip

I believe Workability is a fun program that helps adults and teenagers gain job skills and we all have reasons to go into Workability.
My reason to go into Workability is when it comes to mock interviews I become very nervous
and Philip’s reason to come to workability is to learn skills to keep a job.
