Volunteering means working without money. It is a good way to help people and animals. You can get references and experience. It makes me happy.

Volunteering is giving back to your community without being paid. It is good to volunteer because it gives you experiences and by having those experiences , they can help you find a job in your future. Volunteering looks good on your resume

We went to the cat hermitage to learn about volunteering with cats. Some were sick and some of them were diabetic and the cats are friendly, pretty and cute. I had fun talking to them.

I like learning computers skills.
I like to work. I like to relax.
I like to watch TV or I love coloring.
I listen  to music or write off the book.
These are how I self-care.
I learned that volunteering is for helping people. I like to help animals. I hope to find a volunteer opportunity that will help build my skills.

We sat together talking about this. I want to help  teach piano. I want like to make recordings for records and CDs.

My Next Step...

I would like to start volunteering so I am trying to set up something where I can learn new skills. I am hoping to learn how to become an usher and work in the office for the company called Live Theater Workshop.  I have sent them an email and copy of my resume. Wish me luck! I am learning how to write professional emails which are helping me make contact with volunteer options.

This weekend I went to the garden kitchen so that I can learn how to cook. I will be going there on the first Saturday of each month for a cooking class. I will learn how to make things that grow here in the desert. Stop on in and maybe I’ll see you there!

Check out the clip below for the Live Theater Workshop's Halloween Show!

Volunteering

Today I learned about VOLUNTEERING which means you get to help others in need. You get to be part of a team and meet new people. You can learn about new skills and get better at what you already know how to do!!! You can practice professionalism like being on time, keeping a schedule, communicating with your supervisor and staying productive. A volunteer position can be added to your resume as experience and you can ask a Supervisor to be a work reference. I am a volunteer at The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona and I must say I enjoy it quite a bit. If you want to volunteer check out this website:

Volunteering

Last week I started volunteering at a shelter called Pawsitively cats. It is a no-kill shelter, which means they never put a cat to sleep. It's a great place to adopt a pet and to volunteer. I have a favorite cat name Turbo girl.
