Mock Interviews

I did mock interviews this week. It is a practice interview to help you prepare for the real thing. Here are some common interview questions:
  • Tell about yourself
  • Tell me what you know about this company
  • Explain why I should hire you
  • Finally  do have any questions to ask me

I was interviewing for a position at Sprouts called a stocker. It is a practice interview so you can see what a real interview is like. For example:
 Tell me about yourself?
For that question I answered that I am a hard worker, organized, team player. And that I have been stocking shelves for 7 years at Goodwill. Also I have a passion for working with customers and stocking shelves.

Tell me what you know about this company?

This is what I said” I know that you started as a fruit stand 74 years ago by members of the Boney family”.
Also I said” you have stores from coast to coast.”

That is some of the questions you will be asked hope this was helpful for you  to see what it is like in an interview.

Mock Interviews

I did practice interviews Tuesday. Dom and I interviewed each other. It was helpful practicing with Dom. I also learned the differences between good interviews and bad interviews. Good is showing up on time,  and bad is dressing casually.  I did some research about Olive Garden. I did mock interviews with DeeDee’s Dad. It was very helpful practicing with DeeDee’s Dad!  I also learned about some feedback on how my mock interview went.  I got hired!

Mock Interviews

Today I had a practice interview. I used a script for the time I was in the practice. It’s was OK doing the interview.
I'm working on not needing the script. My advise is that  interviews are easy and simple with a little practice so don't worry you will do great!

Mock Interviews

Today we did Mock Interviews. I have been practicing answering the questions by writing them out. Then I read them out loud and try to memorize my answer. It is helping me build confidence and not be so nervous. I am learning to use the STAR Method which is:
  1. Situation-Describe with specific details
  2. Tasks-What you did
  3. Actions-That you took
  4. Results-That you achieved

It takes practice to use a lot of description in your responses, but keep trying and you will do great!

Mock Interviews

This week we are doing practice for Interviews called Mock Interviews. I am helping by being the Videographer.  When we are finished we can watch the videos and see what we did well and what we need to work on. Aaron and Keli'i have great eye contact and awesome handshakes. These are very important parts of interviewing for a job. They are doing a great job. We are all feeling more confident the more we practice. We all need to remember to ask for a business card after the interview. This way we will have the contact information of the Interviewer so we can follow up with them later. I like doing the filming. I look forward to another day of interviews tomorrow!

Mock Interviews

This week we did Mock Interviews. I have been working hard on improving my response time and have made quite a bit of progress. I am feeling much more confident now. When you first start it may feel scary but keep trying and you will feel better I promise!
