Work ability is grand! It also helps you learn things like how to become a better person. Don’t be ashamed to come to class because what you learn is good for your soul. It gives you skills even when you feel the chills. Don’t be afraid to learn new things. The teacher is awesome, come to class ‘cause it helps you blossom.

I get  nervous  when I meet  new  people  for  a practice  interview.  When  I get  nervous  my hands  start to shake.  I feel like my interview when well today.

Practice mock interview by Ben

The topic I am writing about is me preparing for a mock interview. Yesterday Hannah made us practice role play of being in an interview where we pretended to be in an interview and we practice answering question that could be used in an interview. On the first round we kind of made some errors but on the second round we did well by improving on our errors. I was nervous at first but when I experience it I felt more prepared.

Job fair impressions-Stephen

When we first got to the job fair, the line leading in was very long. Fortunately, the people letting us in were like airport security on opposite day, so the line moved quickly. I got to talk to a couple of people from two different tables and they made it easy to ask questions about the jobs. The rest of the tables were ether for jobs I didn't care for or schools that I don't need.

Stephen and Ben's Workability Blog

Stephen:  I started Workability because I’m just out of collage and need to start getting serious about finding a job. I needed something that would help with interviews and making a resume since those are things I really struggle with.

Ben:  What I think about the Workability program is it seems like a good program to help me get a job.  So far I have experience and the requirements to get a job.  When I apply for a job there is no response.  its like there is some sort of error that I don’t know.  Hopefully the problem will be solved when I joined the program.  Even though I started 1 and half weeks late I was still to caught up on the work with three days of extra hours of catch up work.  And so far I am starting to learn new things.  For an example, just because your rejected doesn’t mean you will not succeed in life and at plenty of other things as well. I thank Workability for this opportunity and the new things they taught me.

I think Workability is awesome because you can learn things you never thought you could do.

Workability is helpful to help with the skills you need to get a job. Some of the skills we learn are writing resume, practice interviewing, communicating, and job searching.

The Workability classroom makes people feel comfortable. I feel respected and heard.

Well the day is finally here.
It seem like we’ve been here forever
We’ve had some good and bad day’s
we got through it. We made and lost friends on our journey.
But we made it as a team. We will miss each other. I wish Koa, Lenny and Todd
Luck on their  journey as they find employment, as for myself I will continue working for UCP as a receptionist and look for  part time work.  We would like to thank the whole workability team for being here for us .

Last Class To Go (Workability), Koa

The last day already approaches, as I prepare my dress suit of a shirt and jeans. I didn't think to bring my tie as a first impression to meet people. This last day makes me want to work out my next plan to move t a job as a Food Runner and Washer. I admit WorkAbility II has gotten me to get up in the morning (not a morning person).  What I liked about the role playing and guests speakers is that one person came in and explained the nature of money coming in, "saving" and what goes out "spending". Spending my day waiting for the food and the start our party. As the other students, Todd Lenny and Shawn move on their path to enrolling to Jobs they like. But I wish them luck on their future.

 Last day of workability- Todd

I have been at Workability since October. I have learned a lot, some of it I already knew. My favorite part of workability was the role playing and the guest speakers. The thing I learned that will really help me in life is when Justin Cummins came in and spoke about budgeting. I feel that will really help because I’m on my own and in my own apartment!

I can’t wait to work at Goodwill and learn the different work skills so I can get better jobs! I plan to stay at Goodwill then move on to a better Job. I hope to have a job possibly that might require a degree that would pay enough so I can get off social  security.
